All Bytown members and residents are advised that the Annual Bytown Pump Day Demonstration & Display scheduled for Saturday August 15, 2020 at Mooney’s Bay Park is cancelled.

This is due to the evolving situation of the COVID-19 pandemic that the Annual Bytown Pump Day Demonstration & Display is being cancelled.


The health and safety of all Bytown members’ and residents of Ottawa is our upmost paramount importance.


Thank you for your cooperation and support of the Bytown Fire Brigade. We will be back bigger and better in the future. Stay tuned for more updates!

Demonstration & Display

Fun for all ages!


Come out and join the Bytown Fire Brigade members at our 3rd Annual




Where:   Mooney’s Bay Park and Beach, 2960 Riverside Drive,

When:    Saturday August 15th, 2020

Time:    10:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Man vs. Machine Demo: 2:00 PM


Join us for this FREE event and see Fire fighting at work over the decades, from present time, to a number of the Brigade’s antique fire apparatus going back to 1850.  Pumpers will pump; there will be lots to see for all ages.


The highlight of the day will be MAN VS. MACHINE pumping demonstration at 2:00 PM where we will put our 1928 American LaFrance pumper against our 1850 Hand Pump.


Please note that food will be available for purchase on site. The Event is free for one and all to attend. Donations to the Bytown Fire Brigade are always welcomed and Bytown items will be available on-site for sale.


The Bytown Fire Brigade is a non-profit Historical Society preserving firefighting history, and has been actively preserving Canada’s firefighting heritage with a fleet of antique vehicles and artifacts in our museum.  Throughout the years, the Bytown Fire Brigade has worked to preserve firefighting artifacts and educate the local community on this important part of its history. All donations are welcomed and help us to preserve the firefighting history. Please Donate today!
